Kroger "plans to lower grocery prices by $1 billion" if Albertsons merger is approvedWhat a load of low-calorie bollocks. Mergers and acquisitions invariably drive prices up, never down — and in the unlikely event any price is decreased, it'll be because of salary reductions from tens of thousands of people being laid off.

One of the better documentaries I've seen about Peru is called "State of Fear," and shows how Alberto Fujimori cynically exploited an emergency situation (and it was a real emergency). It was made in 2005 and reminds me of those plays that old timey authors would make to mock the politics of the current king while hiding behind historical details. It's CLEARLY a warning about the war on terror.

Made by Pamela Yates who has specialized in these compact films about human rights in Latin America that always made me learn more about the United States.
I'm unfamiliar with Pamela Yates, but her IMDB sure looks promising — thanks!
DeleteAll I know about Peru is that I don't like lima beans, so I'll be watching this from a very basic perspective, but I'll be watching. And I know that Peru had a criminal President but ACTUALLY PUT THE FUCKER IN PRISON, which America will never do.
