The other night after an amazing orgasm it got me to thinking:
It’s all about the orgasm:
What is it that nearly everyone wants? Children.
Where do they come from? Orgasms.
What is the greatest pleasure in the world? Orgasms.
If you don’t have children what is the consolation prize? Orgasms.
Children make life worth living.
Orgasms make life worth living.
Take your pick or take ’em both?
Angel Memories
Oh to be young, strong, and vital again.
Not that I wouldn’t know what to do
with a woman, should one present herself
to me momentarily, dressed or undressed.
I actually prefer dressed, so fun to undress.
Hard to imagine that just a year ago I was
undressing a goddess nightly, or in the afternoon.
I do some of my best work mid-day:
not too groggy, not too tired
She insisted I undress her whenever we
went to bed, talk about a win-win!
I believe my line was something like:
would you like to lie down on my bed
and see what happens?
I forget the exact words, could have been,
“Would you like to come lie on my bed
and have an orgasm?”
I don’t think she ever settled for one.
Is there something about orgasm and women,
that they always want two or more?
A man has one and he’s good, si?
Or maybe because she knew that I was
ready and willing. Once I called her greedy,
in jest no doubt, but she didn’t like that.
I have to say she was an ideal lover:
she liked affection, kissing, sex anytime,
any way, probably any orifice.
One thing I could never understand was
how she could say “I love you,” as she left
for the eclipse, then never contact me again.
Maybe that’s how it is with sexy women.
I thought I would be hard to replace,
but I guess not.
Angel, My Delicious Ex
My delicious ex wrote me yesterday, well it was a month-long fling, barely an “ex” I suppose. It was a very warm letter and I was giddy all day. The way she left was strange, telling me almost tearfully that she loved me, then got into her car, drove to the eclipse, and never contacted me again. Like, don’t your words mean anything?
I finally allowed myself to remember some scenes from our summer romance, or fling, or whatever it was. She said she remembered my beautiful smile and I wonder if it was the one looking up at her from between her legs; when you’re making your woman orgasm multiple times a smile is definitely in the mix.
With Angel I learned to ask all the right questions: “Higher? Lower? Faster? Slower? Harder? Softer? Yes, I was an orgasm-giving machine. I kneeled on a soft pillow beside the bed, kissed her thighs, licked her pussy, then concentrated on her excited clit. I pulled the hood off with one hand and stuck some fingers of the other up into her spongy G-spot. After some days I had to stop with the fingers and just use the tongue as she was getting headaches from the too-intense orgasms. “That’s never happened to me before,” she had said.
It’s very satisfying to give your lover orgasms in the middle of the day. After, I climbed up in bed with her, held her and massaged her as she came down from the high. I knew that I’d done all that I could to be a giving intimate partner. And she always wanted more, another or two. She wasn’t amused when I teased her and called her greedy.
Sometimes we just had make out sessions, our lips and tongues dancing together. I introduced her to a kissing game. “I’m going to kiss you but don’t respond,” I said. I kissed, sucked, bit, and licked her lips and she stayed still. Then we relapsed into normalcy and she responded, my hand on her breasts, then all over her body. Then it was my turn to not respond, feel her lips on mine, and enjoy the silly game.
What do I remember from sleeping together? Our long legs met at the end of the bed as she was nearly as tall as I. When she turned away did I hold her from behind? Kiss her neck? Did we fall asleep in each others arms or separate after some snuggling? I cunt remember.
She liked, requested, and pretty much demanded that I undress her each night or afternoon when we went to bed, something that was no problem with me. What is better in life than undressing a luscious woman anticipating our naked bodies pressed together? I started with her blouse and hung it on my shoulder. Before I took her bra off I kissed along the edge then put it around my neck. I licked, sucked, and kissed her breasts, nipples, and neck. I took her skirt off and put it over my shoulder. I pulled her panties down, she kicked them off and handed them to me, over my head they went too, my hands running down her fine long legs. Then I undressed her clothes and mine though I usually kept the panties around my neck.
She was a wondrous presence standing in my kitchen, this tall goddess of desire. A gift from the cosmos, a very sensitive woman who, after a couple orgasms always wanted more. The kind of sexually open woman ready for affection and intimacy at all times, in all ways, and in all orifices, though we never quite got to that.
She wrote me yesterday, after a year gone missing, hoping we could see each other again soon. I wonder if I will be restored to my position, King of her Pussy, and all the intimacy that includes. Though I am giddy with anticipation I know how women, people, can be: Unpredictable, unreliable, undependable, and I may never see her again.
> Children make life worth living.
> Orgasms make life worth living.
> Take your pick or take ’em both?
I’ll take the orgasms, but not the children, thanks. The allure of procreation baffles me, and always has. So many myriad ways to botch raising a kid, so unlikely the odds of doing it without doing lasting damage to either the child or the parents. Having no children was the smartest thing I’ve ever done.
> And she always wanted more, another or two.
The ladies want multiple orgasms because multiple orgasms are an option. I’d want multiples too, if multiples were available. I did it once, maybe twice when I was 20ish, and it was terrific, but past that age it’s not an option for those of us who aren’t doing it professionally.
Splendid tale, and I hope you can be King of Her Pussy again. More based on my own memories than on yours, I wonder whether she left because it was all about her body and not so much about her. On my better days, I become curious what’s in a woman’s mind when she’s not saying oh oh oh higher, lower, softer…
here’s a further look at me and angel (circa 2017, my last maybe forever) in dialog form…
The Future
He: mmm it’s so nice to sleep with you, hold you.
She: yes, but I really want to talk about the future.
He: I’ve only known you about two weeks, can’t we take it day by day and see what happens?
She: that’s easy for you, you have this place, you’re stable, I’m living out of my suitcase and car.
He: well, it seems kind of early to talk about the future. Usually when people talk about the future it doesn’t ring true, it’s bullshit, no one knows what the future will bring, it’s a mystery.
She: don’t give me that emotional white-washing just want to live it day to day mystery crap!
He: well, isn’t that what life is? One day at a time? So what does the future mean to you? It is a mystery. Where do you want to be in a year?
She: I want a home, a family, someone to share it with.
He: but what does that really mean? Do you have the money to buy security, a home?
She: I have some money, I could settle down somewhere.
He: so what do you want from me?
She: to talk about the future, to plan…
He: okay, let’s talk about the future then. Tell me what you envision, ask me any questions.
She: no, you’re not into it
He: I said I would! So lets talk.
She: no, I don’t feel like it anymore.
He: this is how this conversation always goes: you want to talk about the future, I resist, then when I say okay you say no.
She: i’m leaving
He: again? You literally pack up and leave every week. Is this what I have to look forward to?
She: don’t worry, i’m not coming back this time.
My experience with the ladies is but a fraction of a fraction of yours, but this sure rings true to the times I’ve had “the conversation.’ Also kinda funny, as true sometimes is.
Were we talking about this just recently? My memory is out of focus. Sweet rockin’.
Morrison and The Doors had a mind-altering effect on some people. Not you, I’m pretty sure, and not me, but people who’ve said The Doors are their favorite or the best band ever, I think each and all who’ve said it have proven themselves generally kooky in other ways. They’re a band it’s easy to overdose on, apparently.
Then again, it’s a small sample size — only half a dozen Doorheaded people, lifetime. And I ain’t saying The Doors weren’t good, sometimes even great. They were. But you know, they were a band, not a cosmic revelation as some people seem to believe.
They’re all just bands. They’re in it for the money and the adulation and the free checking. Some of them did stumble across art along the way, but they dusted themselves off, cashed a check with no transaction fee, and went back to searching for moolah and pussy (or cock). Dylan charged the Pope $300,000 for a rather short concert. That included the traditional Papal Discount.
I like to celebrate the occasional accidental art because it’s fun and hell, that’s where art comes from. Most of it ended around 2005 and the last of it died with John Prine and long, long COVID.
John
We are, as often happens, agreed.
“It’s not a bunch of good bands and a bunch of bad bands — it’s just a bunch of bands.”
I think I’ve read all of Timothy Ferris’s books. I’ve certainly read most of them. I suppose he’s still best known for being the editor and selector of the Golden Record, which was, in fact, pressed into gold twice in 1976 and hurled into the universe with the launch of Voyager 1 and 2 in 1977 and are now looking back upon our solar system from just outside it.
But he has done so much more. His slightly speculative books about wisdom in the cosmos are entertaining and enlightening. His adventures with Hunter Thompson are wild and funny. And, most importantly, he tells brilliant stories that even I can understand most of the time. During the pandemic of 2020, he, like most of us, couldn’t get out much, so he started a series of short lectures he called the Rocky Hill Lectures. They are brief, occasionally funny, and together constitute a reasonable facsimile of a college education for those of us who don’t have one, and perhaps for those who do, This is the most recent lecture.

I don’t think I’ve read any of his books, but I like this. It’s a podcast, stripped of all the fanciness I hate in podcasts, and without commercials, too. This ep is a little too infatuated with cars, and I hate cars, but I like Professor Ferris, and I’ll listen to more episodes, thanks.
Beautiful but kinda sad to be best known for creating a record nobody will hear.
Just an opinion/clarification . . . Both Mr. Ferris and Dr. Sagan made it clear, in their quieter moments, that the target audience of the golden record was the resident population of Earth. What one notices upon listening to the record of gold is the incredible diversity of music and intelligent life on our rock. It was a point they didn’t want lost by either the senders nor the unlikely receivers of the golden message. That, and “Send more Chuck Berry.”
John
Is Timothy Ferris a Christian, though? Is he headed for Heaven, or doomed to be damned for all eternity in Hell? More than a few minutes searching the internet yields no comment from Mr Ferris on these vital matters, and I like no comment. It’s the next best thing to Carl Sagan’s line, “We must outgrow faith to survive.”
Timothy Ferris has written a little about religion, and he’s a devout atheist. He believes in people and what they’re capable of creating. He doesn’t talk much about religion because he believes that these matters are personal choices and if he’s expecting others to respect his choices he has some obligation to respect theirs. I’ve learned more than a little about respect from reading Mr Ferris over the last 40 years. He was chosen to select the songs on the Golden Record because he is remarkably open-minded about music and everything else.
Mr Ferris hangs around people who do/did a lot of drugs. He apparently doesn’t (or rarely) overdrug. He turned me onto a song by David Bromberg that Mr Bromberg wrote while he was playing guitar in Bob Dylan’s band. He was surrounded by people who were blinking out of existence because of overuse of recreational substances. He wrote a song about it that Mr Ferris recommended, and I’ve posted it out here a couple of times. 40 years later, here he is singing it with his current band (he’s semi-retired). I find it beautiful and instructive. It’s called Diamond Lil. Take eleven minutes and enjoy the simple nuance of experienced, underpaid musicians at their very best.
John
I have heard that an agnostic is an atheist whose parents are still alive. Mr Ferris is 80, but remains a member of the American Agnostic Society. There was a time when scientist-types identified as agnostic as a sort of show of intellectual honesty. I think he just neglected to demit.
John
OK, that long, long address will get you close. You can find Diamond Lil from there. This is me trying to avoid YouTube and managing to avoid my intended target.
Or you can just search for “Diamond Lil” by the New David Bromberg Band.
Good luck.

Escaping reality is one of life’s grandest options, but I’ve never understood people wanting to escape reality permanently. The older I get, though, and the stupider reality gets, I begin to understand.
It’s a sort of suicide. Sprint and long-jump over a cliff, you’ll escape reality forever. Get high and stay high, you’ll escape for as long as you want, maybe longer. Finding a way back gets trickier and trickier. Maybe things are better on the other side.
It’s mostly booze and drugs in the above two paragraphs, but religion is the same. Just another escape from reality.
Bromberg and his sad song get it right. “It’s your body and your soul. You save yours and I’ll save mine.” The druggies generally leave me alone, so I laissez-faire them and try not to judge. Religious fools pester me constantly, though, use their fantasies to make reality worse, and I’ll never stop complaining about that.
… There’s an American Agnostic Society? Must take ten or twenty years before an agnostic can decide whether to join.
… I like your anti-YouTube method. It gives one click for YouTube, instead of multiples, and sometimes another option will appear in the results.
Like any monopoly, there’s no avoiding YouTube without going Luddite or getting fanatical. I’m content to ad-block the site, and block their algorithm’s recommendations, and block their autoplay of the another video after I’ve freeloaded one.
I don’t even know what the hell my anti-YouTube method is besides using DuckDuckGo. It certainly has the best name in computing.

I’ve tried DDG a few times, and it keeps getting better, but I’m becoming an insufferable unpaid pitchman for Kagi search. The results are as good as Google used to be, maybe better, and miles better than Google these days. “Kagi has no ads, no tracking, no noise, and is fully funded by its users.” Sadly, they drink the Kool-Aid on AI, but it’s either off by default or easy to switch off (can’t remember which).
You gotta pay, but it’s a reasonable price and paying makes me the customer instead of the product.
End of commercial.
I’m so sorry this is a YouTube address, but it’s a live performance by the New David Bromberg Band called “Sharon”. David does have a way of making his guitar talk.
