   That AI public art is about the most depressing street view. Very unpleasant, I would stay away from that neioghborhood so fast!

   Non-violent protest only works if the oppressor has a conscience. That excludes the hate crowd that visited Seattle. Protesting those fucks is futile.

         Not even close to true. The Vietnam hawks didn’t change their views because of massive protests . . . but the protests got other people off their asses and into the streets until the streets were pretty darn full. And many people went from the streets to the voting booth. You can’t talk a psychopath into not being a psychopath, but there’s a midterm election in a year and a half and outrage can shed a bright light on the consequences of those elections. I don’t buy your argument that giving up is the best policy. I want to make damn sure every voter knows that Trump and his ilk are defined by the psychopath test.

            You’re taking that on faith? I’m hopeful, but not faithful.

            Wouldn’t say I’ve given up, heck I’ll always root for sanity. If there are elections in 2026, and if they’re fair — two very large ifs — maybe Dems will take control of the legislature, but whether they’ll seriously do anything to stop Trump’s illegal habits is a third very large if.

            Elections and Democrats are not the solution.

               Elections aren’t the solution? They seem to work in 140 or so countries around the world. The other hundred are oligarchies and don’t work so well. We’ve elected some losers, but elections seem to be the basis of democratic institutions.

                  Elections are nice. I like the little “I voted” stickers. It’s awfully obvious, though, that elections in America keep making things worse, not better, except in the painfully limited sense that Biden was better than Trump, whoop de doo. There will be no *actual* solutions to our *actual* problems so long as Democrats are the best choice we’re allowed.

                  And I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we’re even allowed elections.

                     We’re largely powerless, but we can chip away at Trump’s support in various ways. Have you ever played Jenga? Eventually, the tower falls if you remove enough blocks.

                     Trump’s support is built on right-wing propaganda, and anything that exposes the lies or mocks the liars is a tiny bit of help. I share these updates, and it helps and I appreciate it.

                        What we do, we little people, is for our own sake and to help others. We can publish and protest and vote, but none of it much matters beyond mutual support, until something convinced someone rich and powerful to do something. What’s the Jenga move to do that?
