That’s illegal, immoral, and unethical, but most folks shrug. The feds will only target people with deportation orders, right? No way they’d go after just anybody with a Hispanic surname.
And with Flock Safety plate readers, cellphone location histories, internet fingerprinting, cameras everywhere, access to whatever’s purchased with credit cards, and of course all the data illegally scooped up by DOGE, there’s no way that they’d use that information on anyone but the worst of the worst. Nothing to be concerned about…

News you need,
but might’ve missed
Kansas tribe fires business leaders for accepting $30 million ICE detention center contract
Excerpt: “As a sovereign Nation, our values guide the decision we make,” the tribe said in the Facebook announcement, “and we acknowledge that this contract does not align with those principles.”
Me again: There, now that wasn’t so hard, was it?

FBI: Man, woman drive to police station with Homeland Security agent trapped in vehicle
Excerpt: According to the FBI affidavit, the [Homeland Security] agents walked up to the Jeep, displayed their badges, identified themselves as law enforcement officers and told Bamigboye that they wanted to talk about his immigration status.
Me again: Unless there’s bodycam video, I’m calling bullshit on “identified themselves as law enforcement officers.” That doesn’t jibe with the way the Secret Police conducts its operations, nor with the rest of the events described.
Excerpt: The HSI agent tried to put the Jeep in park, but Frazier continually pushed his hand away, allegedly threatened to crash the car and said that they were taking him to a police station.
The agent, who’s assigned to another HSI office and is in Minnesota on “temporary detail for an operation,” is unfamiliar with the Twin Cities, did not know where they were going, and “was in fear that he was being abducted.”
Me again, again: Gosh, imagine the agent’s fear, at being taken by unknown people to an unknown place and fate… like the agent does to brown people, every day.

VA plans to abruptly eliminate tens of thousands of health care jobs
Oh, this is smart. Everyone I know who has VA coverage tells me getting an appointment is far too quick and easy, and there are always doctors, nurses, and technicians loitering around doing nothing.

Trump pretends to block state AI laws; media pretends that’s legal
Trump & the Republicans’ usual claim of “state’s rights” is hokum, and always goes into the trash when states try doing something Republicans don’t like.

News always and only from reliable sites, and I decide what’s reliable — no right-wing bullshit, no Substack because fuck Nazis, and no RawStory, Newsweek, or other clickbait sources. Written news is preferred; video links will be rare, and never to videos where a reporter or podcaster simply talks to a camera — that’s show biz, not news. When necessary, links lead to secondary sites that strip away paywalls, aggressive ads, or the original site’s dumbass design.
