If you travel on streets and highways, walk on sidewalks, drive cars or ride trains or planes, go camping, check weather forecasts, have a credit card or bank account, rent or own a home, get mail, use electricity, drink water, see a doctor, visit a library, go to a school — if you do pretty much anything — Elon Musk and Donald Trump are destroying the infrastructure that makes it possible.
What I haven’t figured out is WHY.
Cruelty is the most obvious motivation for everything Musk and Trump do, but it’s more than cruelty. And it’s stupidity, sure, but far beyond the stupidity you see from stupid people. There must be some twisted logic to what they’re doing, but all I see is the twist, not the logic. You’d think that dismantling America has to be bad, even for billionaires’ businesses and bank accounts.
Once they’ve destroyed the United States and its economy, Musk and Trump and their billionaire buddies will be able to buy more more more of everything at low, low prices during America’s going-out-of-business sale, but there must be more to it than that, right?
