We're walking here

Once daily, I take a walk around the neighborhood. Just a few blocks, no great distance or excess exercise, and my wife always walks with me.

We walked this neighborhood many, many times when she was walking, and after she wasn't walking I pushed her in her wheelchair down these same sidewalks, past the same houses and shops. It was always nice, and it still is. Usually it's the best part of my day.

Stephanie & I walked these streets so many times for so many years, an old man on Moland Street asked a few days ago, "Where's your wife?" We'd only spoken to him once, but we'd seen him often, sometimes waved, so I stopped and explained. It was awkward and my eyes got wet. The man hugged me, and I said thanks and continued my walk with my wife.

If you saw me on the sidewalk, you'd think I'm walking alone, but you'd be wrong. She's with me still, and always.

    1. Hey, thanks!

Only thing I really miss about Wisconsin, is seeing the places I walked with Stephanie.

      And Bob's Diner.
